UFE Prep
All Canadian-trained Chartered Accountants must write (and pass) a three-day Uniform Evaluation (UFE). Through Money Matters Workshops, Monika Malachowska and Massimo Brutto provide a series of interactive UFE preparation sessions in Toronto. Each workshop is two days in duration and includes a lecture component, two written simulations with marking and full question debrief. Participants are taught how to mark the UFE, thus enabling them to see the exam through the eyes of the marker. This typically improves their understanding of what's required to get to "competent". The small class size allows the facilitator to tailor the workshop to the specific needs of participants and allows participants to learn from one another. Our workshops are designed as a compliment and not a substitute to the traditional full scale UFE prep programs.
Monika and Massimo both wrote the UFE in September 2005 and since then have been actively involved in assisting candidates through the UFE process. They have experience as UFE markers from years of correcting papers and providing feedback to candidates for Densmore Consulting and PASS. In addition, they also marked the 2007 UFE for the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA). Massimo was selected as a UFE arbitrator at the marking centre and assisted the CICA in completing post assessment reviews for candidates who did not successfully pass the 2007 UFE. Massimo analyzed these candidates papers in order to provide them detailed feedback on areas requiring improvement.
